Ando was born in China and moved to Japan. They attended Waseda University to study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), receiving their first Bachelor of Arts degree in 2021. They have recently graduated from Central Saint Martins in the UK with a BA (Hons) Fine Art, 1st.
In primary school, they learned traditional handcrafts, including paper cutting and origami, from local craftspeople. That further developed into their passion for fine art later. After completing the course in Japan, they endeavoured on a journey into art practice.
Their artwork inherits the spirit of hand-making fostered in their childhood and the perspectives enlightened during their PPE study. In 2020, they opened first solo exhibition in Japan featuring a large-scale suspended sculpture and a multi-media video installation.
Besides the aforementioned education, they are also well-informed in international relations, psychology, computer science, and Japanese literature.
